My most recent purchase of Diamond Strike anywhere matches seems to be lesser quality matches. Almost every match that I strike separates the burning tip off with the black ash falling on any surface nearby. Cleaning up this bit of black ash shouldn’t happen. Who would have ever thought the quality of a simple match could lessen?

I grew up in Ohio.you could strike a match off your front tooth.i have a box of strike any where Diamond brand strike anywhere..the tip is so small you still have to strike on box

So my local Dollar Store actually has quite a few boxes. I actually bought a pack of 12 individual packs of 32 so I would remember to look into this. I was thinking about buying all of them, because I don’t even remember where I heard about it, oh it was Amazon.. I was trying to order some matches and same thing, hard to do. So I really almost bought.. too many matches. Guess I could make some meth if nothing else, thanks for the tip.

This is too bad, the striker on the strike-on-box matches gives out before the matches can be used. A waste for the consumer and profitable for the sellers. Ughhhhh…

The strike anywhere matches are not like they used to be. I used to light one with my fingernail or strike it on my blue jeans you cannot do that with the strike anywhere matches they sell in the stores now.

Great article…I was wondering what happened to them. As a kid I used their match heads to fuel small rockets.
