I have always liked to climb, everything from jungle gyms, light poles, and trees as a kid, and now, some easy bouldering. So, this site is great for beginners. But I wonder if my measurements would put me at a disadvantage. My height is 68″, my wingspan is 65′, giving me an ape index of 0.96.

I’m 74″(6’2) and have 82 inch span(6′”10). just a inch or even less tilt and I can scratch my knee cap or similar depth but on outside knee, but I also have 9 inch hands so that helps a bit more each way as well . Also when my freind and I sit down on flat bench together he he noticeable taller air like cpl inches and where same height .. so what’s the index called of ur legs pan if u were in the side splits lol??

I never had a any desire to rock climb. I’ll be honest because I don’t think I have the nerve lol.
But I always believed my longer arms relative to my height help make up for stature growing up playing basketball, and briefly had an interest in boxing. I’m only 5’6″, but I have a 70.5 wingspan.

I know hes not a climber but Manute Bol (an ex-NBA player) had an ape index of 1.121 or +28cm
He was 231cm tall with a 259cm wingspan. He was the tallest NBA player ever.
